Update from OnLink: Travel Market situation in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan June,17 2020

Short update about the situation in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan by June,17 2020.


RUSSIA

  • The strict quarantine measures in Moscow were lifted on 9 June 2020;

  • By the end of June 2020, all services shall resume work with certain regulations and/or restrictions;

  • Still waiting for information about international flights;

  • While some travel companies are promoting domestic tourism (Sochi and Crimea), others are not enthusiastic about it at all and are waiting for borders opening .


UKRAINE

  • On Monday, 15th June 2020, the first regular international flights started resuming from Boryspil Airport, Kyiv, limited at this stage;

  • The first flights were to Belarus, Amsterdam and Dubai (with Fly Dubai, though it was not clear if it was for residents only as UAE didn't open its borders officially);

  • Turkey and Greece are actively promoted and TO/TA are reporting an increase in demand to these destinations.


KAZAKHSTAN

  • This weekend, the International flights are planned to resume in Kazakhstan as of 20 June 2020;

  • The flights' resumption will be phased in the next few days/weeks to such countries as Turkey, China, South Korea, Thailand, Georgia.
